Dr. Bobbie Walden

2002-03 President-elect

Dr. Bobbie Walden has been an active member of Civitan since. She was the charter president of the Montgomery Women Civitan Club in Civitan’s Alabama-West Florida District.  At that time the club had 144 members, and achieved Honor Club status. She was a Distinguished President.

 She received her BA degree from Judson College. At Auburn University, she received her Masters and Doctorate degrees. She took early retirement from the Alabama State Department of Education where she was Director of Community Education, administering a multi-million dollar program that utilized more than 10,000 volunteers.  Following retirement, she and her husband moved to Gadsden, Alabama, where she joined the Noccalula Civitan Club and was its president in 1993-94. Again, she earned Distinguished President status.

 In the Alabama North District she has served as chairman for Junior Civitan, Publicity, Awards, and the Youth Seminar. In 1996-97 she was elected governor and was named one of Civitan’s Distinguished Governors. She has served on the district board and trained club presidents from 1994 until 2001.

 On the Civitan International level, she has served as a member and the chairman of the Membership Marketing Team.  Additionally she served as the Oslo Convention Chaplain, and was a Club Building Seminar Instructor.

 She has been honored with club, district, and Civitan International Honor Keys. She is a Master Club Builder, helping build six new clubs. Personally she has recruited more than 80 members into Civitan. She also supports the Civitan International Foundation as a member of the President’s Council.

 Her husband, Bob, is also a Civitan in the Gadsden Civitan Club. The couple has two children, Dennis and Olivia.
