The Alabama Central District (Civitan Mother District) Web Site

The Alabama Central District shall be bordered to the east by the State of Georgia and to the west by the State of Mississippi. It shall include the entire counties of Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Shelby, Jefferson, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Lee, Elmore (east of US Hwy 231), Dallas, Perry, Sumter, Chambers, Russell, Marengo, Hale, Greene, Chilton, and Autauga (except for the City of Prattville), the City of Pell City in St. Clair County, and the City of Sylacauga in Talladega County.

ACD BOARD APPROVES NEW AREAS

At a special, called board meeting during the District Convention in Fort Walton Beach in August, the Board of the Alabama Central District approved a re-organization of the 34 clubs in the district into 5 new areas. Previously, there were 7 areas. This action reduced the number of area directors on the Board and increased the number of clubs in each area. At the board meeting, Governor Mark Jones expressed the thought that this reorganization would increase the pool of potential leadership for each district. With 3 areas to elect a new area director anyway and two vacancies, this was a good time to reorganize the areas in the district. The 5 new areas approved and the area directors are listed below.
