Joe G. Parker

Joe Parker has served as a dedicated Civitan leader for many years, serving as President of the Durham Civitan Club multiple times, as well as Distinguished Governor of the North Carolina District East, Region 3 International Director, and Board Representative on the Junior Civitan International Board.
     Joe has been recognized numerous times for his leadership in Civitan. He has received the Honor Keys at the club, district and international levels. He was named District Civitan of the Decade in the North Carolina District East, and was Civitan International’s Top Recruiter in 2007-2008. As an Executive Master Club Builder, he has built fourteen Civitan clubs in his time with our organization. 
     Joe is a graduate of North Carolina A&T University, with a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. He was a teacher, administrator, and transportation coordinator with the Durham Public Schools. His wife Evalee, his daughter Whitney, and his son Josh are all Civitans. When he is not volunteering with Civitan, Joe volunteers at the Wellness Center of the Durham Regional Hospital. He has also been a member of the Durham County Selective Service Board for 20 years.
